'Hetty' to family and friends, 'Teacup'to generations of students, I was born and educated in England and came to Canada with physician husband and three small chidren post-Suez (1958). Soon thereafter our youngest child was born, and once all our children were in school I returned to university in Saskatchewan to take post-graduate degrees. All my professional life I've been a teacher, having shared with children of all ages (and in latter years adults) my love of language and literature.
In retirement
we live happily on Salt Spring Island
in British Columbia, and spend our time reading, writing, and travelling.
